Reading is so important in 1st Grade.  We work each day to introduce and practice strategies that students need to be great readers.  Their job at home is to practice all the strategies they are learning at school.  We work hard to find ways to make reading more fun - Flashlight reading, hitting reading goals and having lunch with the teacher, and last year, we did a Reading Olympics!  Please make reading a priority in your home several nights each week!g
